New Version released - Ezidoits 5.0
Although Ezidoits is constantly updated and has new features added, large changes will periodically be advertised by changing the version number. Existing installation will automatically be updated with changes and new features as they are released. The changes in this version update include a rollup of all additions and bug fixes since the version 4.2.0 release last April.

Ezidoits Retail vrs now licensed for 3 PCs.
In keeping with our philosophy of providing the best "value for money" to your customers, we now allow 3 computers to be concurrently installed with Ezidoits from the 1 license. This means a home user can install a purchased version of Ezidoits on up to 3 computers for the price of 1.

Ezidoits CDROM disks are now available
Based on overwhelming demand from our Providers, we have created Ezidoits CDROM disks available for direct counter sales. These 8cm disks fit into the updated counter display stands. To receive your CDROM disks and updated display stands contact our Ezidoits staff.

New Department added - PC Nanny
PC Nanny now gives your customers the ability to ban access to disapproved websites and set times for when different users can access the computer. This is a "MUST HAVE" for parents with children who want to protect them from undesirable internet exposure or stop fights over whose turn it is to use the computer.

Existing feature changed
The .NET vrs 1.1 framework installed has been updated to include Service Pack 1 and an important ASP.NET security patch. The size of the .Net download has been reduced from 21MB to 10MB.

Existing feature changed
Asset details and a log of changes (since the previous startup) are assessed everytime a computer is turned on. In some instances this can lead to a startup delay due to the CPU being utilised 100% by the change analysis process. This has been given a "temporary" change that causes the analysis process to "slow down" and allow the CPU to be used by other startup processes. The result is that change detected takes substantially longer than previously. A new process is in development that will limit CPU use to 10% during the computer startup phase.

New feature added
Many Providers have requested a "DOIT NOW" button on the Assets Display page to allow and "Instant" snapshot of hardware and software installed. The purpose of this feature is to facilitate diagnostics and data gathering either directly by a technician or through the phone. This has now been added.

New feature added
Ezidoits "Departments" can now be added and removed where they conflict with other software offers from Providers. A few Providers has expressed concern about the Antivirus product offered through Ezidoits as this may reduce the take-up of other solutions they currently offer their customers. The Ezidoits departments (in this instance the Security Department) can now be removed so customers do not inadvertently install security applications that have already been provided and installed when their computer was purchased.

New feature added
Ezidoits can now be marketed online using the Ezidoits Click-through banners. A new click-through banner process has been created to enable providers to passively market Ezidoits through their websites.

New feature added
Ezidoits removes the 0900 support and replaces it with an Instant Messenger Helpdesk Service. Due to feedback from customers about the cost of 0900 support we have removed this feature and replaced it with a free (1st-teir) online helpdesk service


2009/12/24
Existing feature changed
Ezidoits changes the Security application it installs for Antivirus/Antispyware. Ezidoits was using "Spyware Terminator" but has switched to "Microsoft Essentials". This offers better stability and requires a smaller footprint.
